Ex Kroger boss opens in town Meyers Marketplace
Lynn Meyers and wife Debbie launch Meyers Marketplace at 506 Cleveland St in Elyria. The former Kroger veteran team remodeled the Hearth and Barbecue site into a 3500 square foot roadside market offering produce, deli, Amish cheeses, jams, jellies, and Watkins flavors. They plan 9 am to 6 pm Tue–Sat and 11 am to 5 pm Sun with parking for about a dozen cars and aim to grow to 3-4 similar markets plus a wholesale operation while preserving a personal touch. Also notes an Oktoberfest at Gargas Hall, Route 254, 11 am to 8 pm Sunday sponsored by Vermilion and Lorain Kiwanis clubs with $2 admission.
