In Athens a board member of the Onassis Foundation said Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis will receive 26 million dollars from Aristotle Onassis estate, plus an annual 100000 dollars income. The final out of court settlement, reached in June 1976 after lengthy negotiations, followed earlier offers of 20 million in May 1976. Futile bid to lift Victor the giraffe fails and dies
Vic tor a young East African giraffe at Marwell Park Zoo died from shock during a Royal Navy built winch effort to raise him after he could not stand since last Thursday. The plan involved a 1 ton lifting device and steel scaffolding as staff attempted to film the rescue. The keeper said he appeared stressed and died despite attempts to restore circulation.

Cains to be released after retrial at Marysville
Dorotha and Judy Cain, held since last Tuesday, are to be released today from Marysville Reformatory for Women after a judge ordered a new trial.
