Avon residents oppose Highland Park phase three plan
Gary Smitek of Central South Partners presented a 376 lot Highland Park subdivision at the Avon Planning Commission. Neighbors fear elevated lots worsen flood drainage while Smitek proposes a north end retention basin, ditch modifications, two entrances, and traffic lanes on Route 83 to ease impacts.

Robbery suspect leads 17 mile chase through Columbus streets
Christopher A. Williams, 29, of Pataskala, led nine area agencies on a 17 mile pursuit through sidewalks and wrong way lanes before a pair of cruisers forced his pickup off Route 315. He fled on foot, was wrestled to the ground, and injured jumping a fence. Williams faced felony fleeing charges with possible additional counts for the robberies.
