The Wellington Recreation Board asks surrounding townships to fund the program as its finances remain tight. About 90 percent of the budget relies on a 5 of a mil levy and program fees, with one third of the 350 participants from nearby areas. If townships abstain, fees for out of town youth may rise. The board also proposes developing facilities on land beside the Jones Road reservoir and plans a $5000 fundraiser at the fairgrounds.
