Two Killed as Bus Crashes Truck in Somerset Pa

A Greyhound bus rear ended a trailer truck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Donegal, killing Florence Allen and Molly Alen and injuring others. Marine Sgt Richard Criswell said the crash occurred at 3 30 am with several service members aiding victims.

Five Killed and Six Missing When Destroyer Barton Struck Mine

The U S destroyer Barton was hit by a Communist mine in the Japan Sea while screening for air carrier forces. Five sailors were killed and seven injured as crew evacuated the forward fireroom. Train wreck in Hamburg kills eight, injures fifty

A Hamburg express train jumped the tracks at dawn colliding with a bridge support. Early reports say eight people died and about fifty were injured as the crowded car was torn from its carriages. Rescue efforts continued into the morning with crews aiding survivors.
