Trio Wolds Up Filling Station At Cleveland Street
Three men robbed the High-Speed gas station at Cleveland street and Perry court around 5 13 p m today stealing 7515 from the cash register. Charles Lamadue the night attendant was held at gunpoint and forced to a back room while another robber grabbed the cash. A getaway car later found in the Pasadena Park Allotment belonged to J S Shadley and was reported stolen this morning. Lamadue described the gunmen as young fair complexioned slim, about 5 10 and 140 pounds. The same station was robbed last winter of 58.

Drowning Causes Death in Collings Mystery Autopsy

Elyria Urged to Ready for City Fire Inspection
Elyria merchants owners and officials were urged to prepare for a city wide fire inspection next Thursday. C L Sotherden chairman of the Chamber of Commerce fire prevention committee said if inspectors find clean premises and corrected hazards Elyria will gain a better rating. The Fire Prevention Association of Ohio will conduct the inspection invited by the Chamber and Fire Chief W N Gates with cooperation from service clubs American Legion fire department and local insurance board. Inspection seeks defects that could cause fires and warns 80 percent of U S fires stem from carelessness or preventable causes. The effort is part of a nationwide program to cut fire waste estimated at 500 million dollars yearly.

State to survey Cleveland road widening from county line to Elyria
A. P. Lagron, local engineer, received orders from the state highway department to survey Cleveland road from the Cuyahoga county line to where electric railway tracks leave the highway to widen it to 30 feet. County commissioners urged widening from 40 to 18 feet at the line, noting rails will be removed and right of way freed. The department signaled possible consideration next year and the Federal Highway Number 20 Association shows strong interest.
