Fifty Miners Die In Blast Near Kemmerer Wyoming
A devastating blast at mine No 5 of the Kemmerer Coal Company in Sublet Wyoming killed more than fifty miners and workers. Rescue teams, aided by volunteers from Rock Springs Diamondville Cumberland and Frontier, worked through debris and gas to recover bodies and search for survivors. Twelve were rescued alive late last night, while dozens more remain unaccounted for as effort shifts aim to clear gas and fire hazards and explore the wrecked mine.

Juvente Judge H C Wilcox reviewed the cases of 11 year old Steve Coerner Rudolph Tomasec and Fred Bernbak charged with the shooting and holdup of L C Colson of Lorain. The judge bound them over to the grand jury under 1099 bonds each. Coerner secured a bond while the others remained confined.

Fall Festival Opens in Lorain After Tornado Rebound
