Boston Hospital study shows active treatment aids most patients

An encouraging report on modern active treatment for mental illness from Drs J Sanbourne Bockoven and L Glen Shepherd analyzes a MassHealth Hospital follow up of 100 patients. About 9 in 10 discharged to the community, 8 in 10 back in five years, with average stays around six months. Schizophrenic patients fared well after eight months of treatment, many returning home and to work.

Memorial Stand Given To Milan's C. E. S. Chapter

Milan Edison Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star held its first fall meeting at the Masonic Temple. Lloyd Webster of Sandusky presented a walnut speaker’s stand in memory of his wife Eva, with Italian marble on top, featuring Eastern Star and Mason emblems. Fred McIntyre of Norwalk donated a new lodge article. refreshments followed.
