Ohio Flags of Honor travels to Sheffield Lake memorial
Local veterans and residents gathered for a flag ceremony at Shoreway Shopping Center as 915 memorial flags honored Ohioans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each flag bore a service member’s name with a bell toll. The emblematic display, started by Gino and Lisa Zimmer after their son Nicholaus died in 2005, will end with dismantling at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and a 2 p.m. closing ceremony.
