Army Reserve unit plans move to Lorain County Airport
An Army reserve unit flying 25 turbo power helicopters may base at Lorain County Airport on a five acre site at Russia Road. The 31st Medical Detachment would grow to 25 aircraft and about 50 full time staff with a $1 million annual payroll. Airport authority expands base at county field with federal aid
The county airport now hosts 57 aircraft, up from 13, after the reserve unit began using the Lorain area field for exercises. In August 5487 movements were recorded despite bad weather. The authority authorized $518 real estate tax payment and moved planes from a large concrete pad to free space. State offers to repair pilings under Parkway bridge

Parker, residing on Dellefield Road, faced the charge following a traffic stop near Broad Street where officers alleged an attempt to conceal a plastic bag. The officer tapped the car window to request movement from a parking area.
