Crash near Oberlin kills Kipton couple
A Kipton man Edward Pachinger 56 and his wife Eva 55 were killed in a two car crash at Quarry Road and Route 10 west of Oberlin while en route to Elyria bowling. Cecil Nevels 27 of Amherst was injured and taken to Allen Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Blackout Hits Lorain East Side as 23000-Volt Line Falls
About 8,000 families and businesses lost power when a 23 000 volt high tension line snapped near the B and O Railroad at 11th Street and the Black River.
