Lorain Police Win Softball Clash at Pipe Yard Stadium
Lorain police defeated the fire department 7 to 5 in the annual police versus fire softball game at The Pipe Yard stadium after a city and school district upgrade project. The renovations at Campana Park included new soccer and softball fields and upgraded facilities funded by a 1.6 million dollar National Park Service grant, ARPA funds, and ESER funding, with a 50 year lease to the Lorain School District.

Second threat shuts Lorain JVS classes on Wednesday
Lorain County Joint Vocational School canceled in person classes after a second violence threat in less than a week. A written threat Tuesday prompted police involvement as officials say the threat on Sept 5 affected a student at JVS in Pittsfield Township and the local district. The sheriff’s office says the student was charged and placed in juvenile detention, then released to a guardian.

Arrested officer remains on duty in Avon Lake
North Ridgeville officer Aaron Neff, arrested in Avon Lake on domestic violence, aggravated menacing, and resisting arrest, remains employed. He pleaded not guilty, with a Sept. 25 pretrial set, while an ongoing investigation continues and he earns 36.38 per hour.
