Lightning strikes two Middleburg Heights youths at school
Two Middleburg Heights Junior High students, John Rossi 14 and Benny Kopec 15, were struck by lightning while crossing the baseball field near the high school at 7:30 am. Rossi was in critical condition with electrical shock and second degree burns. Kopec was treated and released. Teachers and students witnessed the incident as classmates performed rescue efforts.
