Enrollment grows in Elyria parochial schools

After six miles out the propeller shaft broke and they drifted for about two hours until a fisherman with a power launch sighted them and towed them to Mitwanga. They waded ashore through three feet of water as waves washed the boat higher on the beach. No fishing occurred while waiting.

Girl Injured In Traffic Crash At Lorain
One person suffered severe cuts to face and head and five others were bruised when a truck driven by Joseph Harcula of Lorain overturned in a ditch at Stop 46 Broadway. Stella Dzierzyk was hospitalized with serious head injuries. Passengers included her brothers Chester Frank Benny and Steve Petroff, all in Harcula’s truck, which collided with Edward Nabakowski and his family from Amherst, none of whom were hurt.
