Shopper wins small claims ruling over Wal-Mart bra price
Mary Bach sued Wal-Mart after $7.46 each was charged for 13 bras priced at $6.96. A magistrate ordered payment of $139.50 in penalties and costs for unfair trade practices and consumer protection violations. Bach tested prices at stores in Greensburg, Fairfax, and Hilton Head, saying scanning was consistently wrong.

Rattler bites fatal for handler in Alabama incident
In Calhoun County Alabama a man died and another was hospitalized after two men played catch with a live rattlesnake. Joe Buddy Caine 35 of Edwardsville died at Regional Medical Center in Anniston about an hour after being bitten on the arm by a four foot rattlesnake Wednesday night. Junior Bright was in serious condition. Paramedics said they were semi conscious upon arrival after delaying ambulance service by calling 911 first.

SIDS Linked to Brain Defect Found in Study
A Boston study reported in Science identifies a brainstem chemical defect linked to SIDS. Researchers say acetylcholine receptor insensitivity in ventral medullary surface cells may hinder response to rising carbon dioxide, potentially explaining crib death without providing a final cause.
