Broadway merchants face yearlong light bill extension
Lorain Council voted to extend the annual 16 000 lighting cost on Broadway for another year and sent the matter to the street light committee for study. Merchants from the Loop to 22nd Street pay 1.25 per front foot under a 15 year old agreement. Councilman Parker opposed the measure arguing the lights and poles were paid off and suggesting turning off half after 10 p.m. to cut costs. Also sent a rezoning request for a 15 acre site north of Colorado Avenue to the planning commission.
