Five Pilots Safe As Jets Land After Mixup Collision
TOKYO AP Five F-86 Sabre jets on a short flight between bases in Japan ran out of fuel in foul weather and crashed or made emergency landings Saturday in a mixup that included an air collision. All five pilots were safe with three parachuting and two landing safely. The jets took off from Kisarazu southwest of Yokohama and encountered stormy weather before reaching Itazuke Kyushu Airbase. Two collided. one pilot bailed out over Hiroshima and two others near Itazuke. One plane in the collision landed safely near Itazuke and another at the base airstrip.

Fall Off Porch Kills Recently Freed POW
Cpl. Edgbert Hall, 30, Duquesne, a former POW who spent 34 months in a Communist prison camp, died from a fractured skull after tumbling from a second floor porch in Homestead, Pennsylvania. He had just returned home Aug. 27 for a reunion with his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. William H. Hall, eight hours after being admitted to Homestead Hospital.

Man badly hurt in Route 113 collision near Morray Ridge
A two car crash on Route 113 near Morray Ridge road at 1 30 pm yesterday left Steve Myer 74 of Quarry road South Amherst with a severe forehead laceration and listed in poor condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital. The incident involved Sam Jones 33 of South Amherst driving west and Joseph A Hites 70 of Route 113 R D Elyria driving east as Hites pulled away from a fruit stand. Deputy Manuel Gomez reported extensive damage to both vehicles.

Freight Train Wreck Wounds Six in Springfield Collision
A New York Central freight train plowed into the rear of another early today in Springfield injuring six crewmen and derailing 18 cars and two diesels. Both trains were moving east when the crash occurred. Cars were hurled into nearby fields and diesels caught fire before crews extinguished the blaze.

Collision at Wellington traffic light injures two
Charles Ves ey Biddle of Niles a student of Overlin College was fined ten dollars in Mayor Grays court for failing to stop at a signal in Wellington Village square at 720 am. He collided with Lawrence Randall of Akron who was driving west on Route 18. Randall and his wife Lois sustained chest injuries and cracked ribs. Biddle and Peter Radcliffe of Oberlin a fellow student and owner of the car were treated and taken to hospital.

Three Severn Year Olds Start Fire That Leaves 33 Homeless
A Cleveland fire destroyed homes today after three seven year old boys smoking cigarettes in a clubhouse sparked the blaze. Thirty three people are now homeless in the East Side district. Local officials say the incident began when the boys attempted to light a cigarette and the flames spread through adjacent structures. Firefighters battled the flames for hours and no serious injuries were reported.
