GE previews UDF unducted fan engine in England show

GE officials say about a dozen airlines plan to tour facilities in Cincinnati to learn about the two blade sets that rotate in opposite directions at the rear of the jet. The unducted fan aims to save substantial fuel with no speed loss, but noise reduction remains the top challenge before 1990s marketing.
