FBI slays Bank One suspect in Cleveland area

A man killed Tuesday night by FBI agents is believed to be one of two Halloween-masked robbers linked to a string of area bank heists. The deceased, Ronnie Williams, 28, of Cleveland, was shot during a pursuit near his home after armed confrontations with agents and a bounty hunter. A second suspect, Wilhalt Chal Bug Walla, is sought on an armed robbery warrant tied to a Cleveland Telephone Credit Union robbery, with possible links to other Cleveland and Lorain County bank heists.

County eyeing 50000 acre jetport proposal in northern Ohio

Elyria area business leaders met September 4 at the Elyria Country Club with Akron lawyer David Brennan, head of the Western Reserve Economic Development Council, to discuss a multi–billion dollar 12 runway jetport and 50000 acre industrial park. The plan envisions an international free trade zone. Local bankers and chamber officials expressed support and urged political leaders to back resolutions. No site is fixed the idea remains exploratory with no concrete details yet.

Horse theft bust tied to Sugarcreek auction

Tax break eyed for Accent Kitchen move to Elyria

City committees back a six year 84800 tax abatement to move Accent Kitchen Supply into the former Captain Nemo gym at 1440 Lowell St. The plan forgives half of real property taxes next year and aims to create five new jobs, with total staff rising from 25 to 30.
