Sheriff to sell Antlers Hotel in Lorain Dec 5
A third attempt to auction the Antlers Hotel in Lorain will be conducted by the Lorain County sheriff on December 5. The 78 room hotel, tied to a $185,000 mortgage from Pioneer Savings and Loan Co., was first offered August 1 under a foreclosure order. The property was appraised at $316,000, with minimum bids set at two thirds of appraisal, or $210,666, but no bids were received. The hotel was reappraised at $265,000 and offered again October 2, yet again failed to attract bids.

J Ed Uland executive director of the Greater Lorain Chamber of Commerce will speak at the Lorain County Grange Award banquet. The event starts 7 p m Saturday at West Carlisle School on Rt 301 with Mabel McLoda of Amherst emceeing. Mr and Mrs Marvin Marsh of LaGrange named Ohio Grange Couple Of The Year and will be honored as they attend the Ohio Grange Convention in Dayton. Secretary awards and membership citations will be presented.
