Lakewood Man Seriously Injured In Ridgeville Crash

A two-vehicle collision near Ridgeville left Frank Kono of Lakewood badly cut and in shock. The sequence began when a Lorain driver struck a truck on Avon Belden Road, knocking loose the gas tank and triggering a rear crash that involved J Kuchike of Lakewood. Kono was rushed to Memorial Hospital and revived after stopping breathing, with doctors noting his condition improved.

Voters to Get At-Home Ballots and Rides in Lorain

The Lorain County Dry Federation will assist voters unable to reach polls or attend in person. Nellie M. Hill announced helpers will deliver ballots to ill voters at home, and provide transportation to the polls for those needing aid if they call by noon Monday.

Posse hunts four gunmen after ransom case in Illinois

A 50 officer posse searched farmland near Kewanee Illinois seeking four gunmen suspected of extorting 1.6 million dollars from wealthy residents including Galva banker Carl L. Yocum. The quartet briefly hid in a farmhouse before escaping on foot, leaving evidence behind as an airplane assisted the search.

Plane Crashes Near Neufchatel Kill Three Onboard

An Imperial Airways passenger plane from Le Bourget to Croydon crashed in fog near Neufchatel, France. Three of six occupants died including an American. four passengers, a pilot and observer survived. A separate Ohio report says two bandits robbed Fred Zell, 41, driver for City Ice & Fuel Co., and took his truck.

Elyria Memorial Hospital celebrates its twenty second birthday noting its 1907 streetcar disaster memorial origin and service since 1908. Woman dies in Plain City fire at two story block

A blaze in Plain City destroyed the two story Black block leaving one woman dead and three others rescued from smoke. The second floor housed attorney Howard Black and his sisters Olive Feather and Jennie Black. First floor included Jones drug store and a George Elias grocery and confectionery. Ada Cole aged 75 died from excitement during the incident.

Midwest cold wave brings snow flurries to Chicago

Chicago observers reported the second Midwest cold wave sweeping in from the northwest with snow flurries and below freezing temperatures. Forecaster WWP Dar warned the snow could amount to more than flurries and that the cold spell may last three days as lake shippers receive warnings.

Grafton Woman Badly Hurt In City Car Crash

Mrs. Herman Pedlich, 48, of Grafton, suffered arm lacerations and a fractured pelvis when the automobile she rode in skidded at East avenue and Sixteenth street. She was taken to Elisha Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

Teachers To Attend Northeastern Ohio Teachers' Meet

Elyria and Lorain County schools will close for a teachers holiday tomorrow to permit attendance at the Northeastern Ohio Teachers' Association annual meeting in Cleveland.
