Lorain lawmaker attacks new food stamp rule
Lorain state Rep. Dan Ramos criticizes a new Ohio rule that ends food stamp eligibility for able bodied adults without 20 hours of work or training per week. He calls it punitive and notes many unemployed people lack transportation or computers to seek jobs, complicating compliance. The rule takes effect January 1 across 72 counties including Lorain. Federal guidelines limit eligibility for adults 18 to 50 without children to three months in a three year period without work.
