Primitive weapon deer season opens in southern Ohio area
Don Mitler reports a rapid fraternity style group begins the first of two deer seasons Monday through Saturday across southern and southeastern Ohio. Open for bucks only are Wildcat Hollow Athens Morgan Perry Salt Fork Shawnee State Forest Scioto and Adams counties. A statewide primitive weapons season runs Jan 4-6 attracting many who otherwise have only this one season. Also longbows crossbows and a single shot muzzleloading rifle or muzzleloader shotgun are allowed. Rabbit season opens Monday on public lands. cottontail season on private lands runs to Jan 29. Hours 9 am to 5 pm. daily limit four. A LaGrange Hunting and Fishing Club work and fun party is Saturday at 10 am. election of officers Monday at Pittsfield Town Hall.

Black River Audubon to Host China Slide Show Meeting
