United Fund Shrinks Lorain County Agency Funding by 16 Percent
United Way officials said funding for Lorain County agencies will drop 16 percent from January 1 to March 31 to cover a $540,000 shortfall due to unemployment. The across the board cut of $110,247 comes as pledges for the 1981 campaign fall short by 19.6 percent, with reserves of $470,000 used to maintain services amid layoffs and increased demand. The cut will not affect the 1983 allocations or current campaign goals, which end November 16 at $3,030,000.
