Carlisle Township Fire Auxiliary Dinner Marks 25th Anniversary
Carlisle Township Fire Auxiliary honors its 25 year history at a dinner at the Carlisle Township Fire Station. Six of the original 22 charter members remain active, with officers listed from 1960 and 1951 affiliations noted. The group has funded equipment, scholarships, and welfare efforts, and supports the Fire Department and county groups. Lorain County Banjo Band performed at the event.

Miss Yost a 1975 graduate of Midview High School works as a cashier at Sparkle Market. Tomeko a 1973 Elvira High School graduate employed by Marjorie Construction Company attends Lorain County Joint Vocational School as an apprentice carpenter. The couple will wed December 19 at St. Mary Church with Rev Russell Conners officiating.

Two headed turtle found by New Jersey boy
In Avalon New Jersey Joseph Bennett found a tiny two headed diamond back terrapin described as a freak of nature by a Philadelphia Zoo expert. Zoologist Roger Wood of Stockton State College notes the undersized shell matches a 25 cent piece and the turtle currently lives as a pet in a bowl with normal hatchlings.
