Jail No 1 approval looms in Sheffield village ballot
The issue on the ballot next Tuesday aims to block Corinthian Corp from building a 100 bed private jail on 11 acres. Village officials say the jail can be built regardless of the referendum as the land is zoned commercial and Corinthian has state permits. The Citizens Committee to Stop the Jail has gathered over 450 signatures and argues voters deserve full facts.
