Oberlin Coed Critically Injured on Rural Road

Emily Chamberlain Cook 21 of Arlington Virginia was found unconscious in the middle of Albrecht Road near Oberlin as detectives probe whether a hit and run or an earlier dumping caused the injuries. She was in critical condition with severe head injuries and lacerations, remaining in intensive care as investigators trace her activities from Detroit visit to the time of discovery. Her backpack and wallet were found nearby along with tire marks indicating a possible past vehicle action.

Bomb kills two British soldiers at Londonderry post

A bomb destroyed a six foot high sandbag observation post at the Rosemount police station area killing two British soldiers. Three men were seen fleeing the scene as a spate of attacks hit Londonderry Belfast and Larne.

Vermilion and area police back Halloween but urge caution

Area police chiefs say trick or treat remains popular though some poses risk to children. Vermilion will not declare an official Trick or Treat Night, citing possible lethal treats and showing razor blades and steel shavings in candy samples.
