Desert shooting spree ends in suspect's death
In Ridgecrest California a gunman fatally shot a woman wounded a man and chased by police through the Mojave Desert with two hostages in his trunk He is killed in a shootout as police fire more than a dozen rounds The two hostages were flown to a hospital with unknown conditions but expected to survive The suspect knew all victims from the Ridgecrest incident near the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake with U.S. 395 shutdown and Ridgecrest schools briefly locked down.
