Doris Hunter 18 daughter of Mr and Mrs Ellis Hunter of 320 Prospect St Wellington has been named District 10 Miss Ohio DECA Contest winner. A Vocational Center student in the Distributive Education Program she also works at Nobel's Shoe Store Midway Mall. The two day contest involved a written exam personal interview impromptu questioning and modeling. She advances to the state Columbus November 5 and 6 to compete against 23 district winners for the Miss Ohio DECA title.

Two youths rob E 28th Street apartment then flee after neighbor pursuit
Burglars struck twice Sunday at an E 28th Street apartment and were chased off by a neighbor during a second attempt. Police report padlock broken open and interior ransacked at Jarge Plaze’s home. A 66 year old woman who first called later observed two youths again leaving the building and beating them with a flashlight as they fled.

EHOVE chapter members of the Ohio Office of Education Association were runners-up in office competition at the Region 7 convention at Ashland College last Tuesday. Jeane Dodson, daughter of Ray Dodson, was runner up in president. Janet Carver took second in treasurer. Dan Wolfe placed third in vice-president. Dodson and Carver, seniors in data processing, will compete in state screeing on Columbus Saturday.
