Lorain County Health District aims to obtain HUD Healthy Homes grant money to help families unable to afford exterminations. Exterminations cost over 1000 dollars, and 87 percent of area students live in poverty, with 30 school bedbug sightings this year. Authorities say school tissues are monitored, heat and dryer steps used, and licensed exterminators required for serious cases.
