Chase Through Elyria Ends in Three-Car Crash

Police arrested 23-year-old Roy Barnette after a high speed pursuit through downtown Elyria that ended when his Cadillac struck another car and collided with a traffic signal pole. Barnette faces multiple charges including reckless operation and driving under suspension. two others were treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital.

Oberlin Inn manager pleads innocent in bottle law case

Oberlin Inn manager Gary Armitage pleaded innocent in Oberlin Municipal Court to a complaint that he violated the citys 1971 prohibition on selling beverages in non returnable containers. Merchants Gene Presti Dave Kaltenbach and Lou Rotano filed the case claiming beer was sold in non returnable bottles. A pre trial conference is set for Nov 10 with a ruling likely by Judge Martin Heberling.
