Binzer, owner of private ponds, vows to arrest trespassers after seven people from Elyria were charged with criminal trespassing and damaging a fence protecting his 15 acre pond. He says repeated touting of the ponds in the Chronicle Telegram drew offenders and promises stricter action.
Elyria police probe the stabbing and ligature marks on 38 year old Douglas A. Fauver found in his apartment at 525 S Abbe Road. The death occurred around 3 30 pm Tuesday with a kitchen knife in his back and evidence of strangulation. Investigators seek motive and witnesses.
Two people were injured when a Cadillac fleeing police on Lake Avenue near Route 113 caused a chain reaction crash. Michelle Turrill, 23, and Roy Barnette, 22, were treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital with facial burns and head injuries, while Barnette remained under care for bruises. Police pursued the Cadillac after a reported incident near Route 113.

Deborah Bell, 24, who gave birth to a daughter while in a coma, died when the life support machine was switched off after five weeks. Bell suffered a brain hemorrhage on Sept. 13 and her daughter's Caesarean delivery occurred Sunday two months premature.
