Lorain officials said the blight study for the Landmark Hotel site must show 20 percent of homes blighted to justify eminent domain, with a completion target of November 3. inspectors assess 18 to 20 homes on 5.4 acres west of Arizona Avenue to East Erie Avenue.
The city and the Northern Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association reached settlements on two grievances filed earlier this year. Overtime will be handled on seniority in the future, and a compromise hourly rate was agreed for officer in charge shifts. Arbitration costs totaled about 1550 dollars.
