High speed chase ends in three-car crash in Elyria

Police arrested 23 year old Roy Barnette after a downtown chase in Elyria that started near Elyria High School. His 1982 Cadillac struck two cars on Route 113 bypass, injuring Michele Turrill and Richard Friend. Barnette was found with a butcher knife and bags of suspected controlled substances and was arraigned in Elyria Municipal Court.

Oberlin Inn manager pleads innocent in bottle law case

Oberlin Municipal Court heard Gary Armitage plead not guilty to selling beer in non returnable bottles under a 1971 city law. Merchants Gene Presti Dave Kaltenbach and Lou Rotano filed the complaint claiming three bottles were served at the Inn. A Nov. 10 pre trial is set as the case may go before Judge Martin Heberling.
