Volunteers aid comatose Terrance Fagan in long recovery
In Ocean Township New Jersey volunteers, community groups and nurses devote 12 daily sessions of a 45 minute therapy to Terrance Fagan a comatose three year old rescued from a near drowning. The program aims to stimulate brain function through multisensory stimulation and family involvement. Terrance has shown gradual signs of awareness after six weeks of therapy and his mother credits the volunteers with his slow progress. The effort began after the July 28 1983 accident and has drawn broad local support from the Asbury Park Women's Club and the Voluntary Action Center of Monmouth County.
