Industry pledges boost fund drive to 77 percent of goal

At the United Fund of Greater Elyria luncheon in the American Legion hall, Industry led by Dexter S. Kimball Jr. reported 230,877 toward the drive, 77 percent of the 200,660 goal. The General Motors Band provided entertainment as divisions reported totals led by Industrial at 173,946 and Commercial at 45,583.

Eight questioned in triple slaying case in Chicago

Chicago police questioned eight men over the slaying of three boys, with none deemed a good suspect. Auto Hits Cars Driver Dead in Cleveland Crash

Harry Thomas, 66, of Cleveland died when his car struck parked vehicles on East 89th Street near Euclid Avenue in Cleveland early today. The driver was alone and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities investigated the crash as a single vehicle incident.
