Swedish scientist Axel Theorell wins 1955 Nobel prize in medicine

Stockholm reports Prof. Axel Hugo Theorell won the 1955 Nobel prize for medicine for his 20 year study of enzymes. The award includes the plaque and a cash prize of 190,214 Swedish crowns. It marks the first year since 1950 that an American did not share the prize.
