Oberlin Schools chief Geoffrey Andrews resigns for Beijing post
Oberlin Schools Superintendent Geoffrey Andrews will resign effective July 31, 2011 to become director of the Western Academy of Beijing in China. The district board meets at 9 a.m. to accept the resignation. Andrews credited with boosting state test scores and earning an excellent rating, and expanding the International Baccalaureate program districtwide.

Elyria guardsman seeks age limit change for police exam

Man faces murder charge after Flats nightclub stabbing
Clifton Robinson of Oberlin is charged with aggravated murder in the death of Kevin Nord Ghee, 25, of Warrensville Heights. Lydia Nord, 31, was released pending further investigation with possible grand jury action. The incident occurred near Earth Nightclub on Old River Road after an argument inside. Dorian C. Williams, 24, was treated for a facial cut. The arraignment for Robinson is set for today.
