Southeast District Fall Boy Scout Camporee Planned
The annual Southeast District Fall Boy Scout Camporee at Camp Firelands starts Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday. H. A. Hurlbut, camping and activities chairman, says 20 to 25 troops are expected. Nine major competition items include health safety patrol spirit kitchen cooking fires cooking serving meals patrol projects Saturday inspection and check-out inspection. The highlight is the traditional campfire Saturday night.

In the Carlisle LaGrange district eleven civic groups formed a citizens committee to advocate a $412 000 bond for a building program. The plan includes a larger auditorium gymnasium at La Grange a new elementary school in Carlisle Township and expansion of the farm shop and bus garage with funds to be raised through a 3.5707 mill tax over 23 years.
