Thew Shovel Co of Lorain and Elyria completed the purchase of controlling stock of Dixie Crane and Shovel Co in Harrisburg Pa. C B Smythe Thew president said the deal will boost sales by about 1 million dollars in the next year with further gains later. Dixie will keep its Dixie brand and manufacturing remains unchanged in Elyria Lorain. Three Thew officers joined Dixie as directors while longtime Dixie leaders Benjamin and David Jenkins stay on the board.
