Nine year old held after substitute teacher death ruled homicide
A 9-year-old boy detained by the juvenile court after the death of substitute teacher Nedra Morris at Marshall Elementary School was ruled a homicide. Morris, 51, died Oct. 10 after the boy struck her on the chest following a refused assignment. The medical examiner cited heart disease worsened by the attack and emotional distress. Homicide detectives urged charging the boy with voluntary manslaughter. the court will decide this week on possible charges and custody.
