Typhoon Wipha devastates Izu Oshima killing and flooding
Typhoon Wipha caused deadly mudslides on Izu Oshima island near Tokyo, burying homes and leaving at least 17 dead and about 50 missing. Rescue teams recovered 16 bodies as more than 350 homes were damaged or destroyed across the island and Honshu. Japanese troops and police aided operations while Fukushima Dai-ichi released rainwater from its tanks as a precaution.
