More reserve troops could get call for Iraq
Pentagon planners mull mobilizing more National Guard and Reserve forces for Iraq as international troops may be scarce early next year. The mix could include international units and active duty Marines replacing overextended units. Generals said reservists will be notified with ample time and training. Congress members urged rotating Guard and Reserve units to curb burdens and retention worries. A troop morale survey in Iraq showed one third with low morale and half not planning to re enlist, prompting Pentagon vigilance.
