About 55 vehicles contest the Future Fuels Challenge Rally from Los Angeles to New York using non gasoline fuels. Cars include a wood burning bus and an electric motorcycle. Designer Joe Shepard promotes alternative fuels amid Middle East oil influence concerns. A candy bar derived fuel called Snickerhol fuel-90 will be sold along the route for one dollar per gallon.
Ariane Tebbenjohanns Sheppard 52 returns to northeastern Ohio to live with William and wife in Rocky River after decades of moves and marriage to Dr. Sam Sheppard. She plans to rent in Westlake, seeks work, and defends Sheppard as a mild man while criticizing past funding controversies and her Hitler Youth remarks.
