In response to 1NT by partner after 1 2 9 opening, four hands suggest: 1. bid 3NT to probe for slam with strong diamond heart distribution and 17+ HCP. 2. bid 3 diamonds to slow partner and test strength, possibly pass if partner raises. 3. jump to 4 diamonds to show extra values and explore slam, avoiding 3NT. 4. 3 clubs as waiting cue to force disclose, aiming toward grand slam in hearts if favorable.
