Burglars blew open the new Grafton postoffice safe around 2:45 to 4:45 a m and escaped with about 60 dollars in cash and stamps. Checks and money orders totaling roughly 350 dollars were taken, alarms and fingerprints to be reviewed by postal authorities. Postmaster Washington and Sheriff deputies investigated. a fingerprint expert was en route.

Italy Agrees To Partial Withdrawal Of Foreign Volunteers
London report says Italy accepted a plan for partial withdrawal of volunteers from both sides in the Spanish Civil War. The decision came at a secret session of the non intervention committee in London with nine nations present. Dino Grandi stated Italy is to withdraw a certain number of volunteers in equal quantities as part of the British plan. The plan calls for an immediate token withdrawal of at least 5 000 volunteers and the creation of a supervising commission. Belligerent rights at sea may be granted to both sides upon withdrawal.

Mrs Alma Branch 25 of 246 Bath street wife of Stewart Branch a Cleveland Elyria policy game promoter arrested by Patrolman Miller for allegedly running the policy racket. Two Dead One Hurt In Auto Collision Near Springfield
In Springfield Ohio on October 16 two men died and another was injured in a collision at the junction of Routes 42 and 70 near South Charleston. Walter East of Springfield and Harry Cartmell of Blanchester, 23, died. Edward Nuss, 30, also of Springfield, was injured. The crash involved a truck driven by Cartmell that struck the car, causing a front impact. East was a passenger in the car driven by Muss.

560 Men Flee To Safety From Fumes
In Mulga Alabama 33 miners were found dead after an underground explosion at Woodward Iron Company’s coal mine. A neighborhood football game yesterday afternoon caused Charles Conrad fifteen to suffer a fractured right forearm. He is the son of Frank Conrad of 215 Cornell avenue. The injury occurred in a vacant lot behind L. D. Hutman's home at 146 Stanford avenue. Charles was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital by Mr. Hoffman.
