Lorain official pleads no contest to disorderly conduct
Lorain Town ship Trustee David Newsome pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct charge from an argument with Lorain County Sheriff deputies over loud music at his Broadway home. Newsome, 43, was fined 100 dollars and ordered to pay court costs after deputies were called to his home multiple times Saturday and Sunday.

Elyria man indicted in carjacking incident
Elyria man Steven Comrie, 31, has been indicted on aggravated menacing, attempted abduction and two counts of abduction tied to an Aug 21 carjacking. The case centers on Abbe Road and Cleveland Street where a woman saw him run to a stopped vehicle and later forced driver Christopher Taylor to drive to East Broad Street and South Abbe Road. Taylor described the suspect as acting like he had a gun and shouting questions before fleeing as police arrived. Comrie was arrested without incident at a McDonald’s parking lot and is being held.

Inmate Beckham gets extra two years for felonious assault
Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Edward Zaleski extended Robert Beckham's sentence by two years while he serves a 21 year term for attempted murder and felonious assault. Prosecutor Dennis Will said Beckham attacked two corrections officers at Grafton Correctional Institution with a weighted sock and injured a fellow inmate as he was subdued.

A Vermilion based contractor Herk's Excavating was cited for dumping storm water into a Lorain County Rural Wastewater District sanitary sewer manhole during a township drainage project in Eaton Township near Henwill and Brokaw roads. Avon Lake Municipal Utilities spotted the dumping. township officials say fines and treatment costs may be sought, with civil penalties up to 1000 dollars per day.
