Members of Dickinson Neighbors of America met at Sree Hall to install Holtz as president and discussed sick and shut-in cards, a traveling basket fundraiser, and hosting duties for November. Special prize went to Mrs. Mike Gildren and inviting guests included Mrs. Sophie Yarmock and Mrs. Gertrude Elytia.
Amherst notes show Patline Barck named president of the Philathea Class at St. Peter Evangelical and Reform Church. Re-elected were Mrs. William Springer secretary and Rosel Ehlert treasurer. Prizes went to Lucy Roemer Lilian Raesler and Rose Ehlert. Open House events and club notices fill the community sheet with meetings, dances, and district planning across Amherst and neighboring towns.
South Amherst PTA executives met to discuss the Lorain County Council PTA session at Eaton School on Oct 1 2 with an afternoon and evening program and dinner at 6 p m. Membership chair Mrs Joseph Gargasz reported 101 members and bake sale plans were set for the next regular meeting. The school bond issue for November was discussed and a toy demonstration was assigned to the ways and means committee. Other members present were Mrs Harold Dickinson Mrs Clarence Flew Mrs Jen Lane Mrs Leonard Koehn Mrs George Innes Mrs Paul Foor and Mrs Richard Dickinson.
