Elyria Airman Leonard Plato Killed in Georgia Crash
Elyria resident Airman First Class Leonard J. Plato 21 served three years in the U S Air Force including Korea and the Far East. He was killed in a highway crash near Savannah Georgia with two other airmen. His wife Sharyll Brunner survives along with parents Carl and Joseph Plato and three siblings. The accident involved an asphalt truck and an oil truck. Plato had earned the air medal and Korea service medal among others.
