Strapped schools reveal $146,443 early retirement buyout
Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports on the Garener district retirement package under STRS. The board approved a five year payout of 106,443 plus interest, funded from state foundation money, while saving around 55,000 by replacing Greener with Don Chiavetta at a lower salary. The package included severance, unused sick leave, and advisory consultancy after retirement.
